Looking to buy a new truck, trying to decide between the 07 F350 in a Diesel, or the gas V10. Any input on either engine would be appreciated.

The diesel will give you many advantages in the long run. My whole life I have been driving gassers and am tired of them. Poor gas mileage while towing sent me over the edge. As soon as the 6.4 has been out for some years I will be getting one. Right now the 6.0 can't get any better and is the best of the 3 years used. Oh and welcome to the site.

Bad gas mileage would keep me from buying a V10. I know many who own V10s and they all complain about the fuel economy. But they pull good.

It all depends on how many miles a year you put on it and how long you plan on having it!! Less then 15,000 miles a year and the gasser would be a very good choice. 15,000 to 30,000 it's a tossup. Anything over 30,000 miles a year the Diesel will start to pay for itself. If you are planning to keep it for a log time the Diesel might be the better choice!! I average about 60,000 miles a year Diesel works better for me!!

thanks for the welcome, the gas mileage im getting now isnt so great anyways so gas mileage isnt so much of an issue., as of now I have a 2001 v10 f-350, it only has 39k miles on it, gets used everyday but pretty much just in the local area, when its used theres alot of weight in the bed. It well get run hard in the winter as well with the plow on it.

I have an 05 v-10 and an 07 stroker, and as far as towing ability goes, they are about equal. In fact that 3 valve v-10 will pull a hill with a load faster than the powerstroke will, but the stroke only has 2500 miles on it and it gets about 3 or 4 miles per gallon better mileage. I'm still waiting to get more miles on the stroke to see if it gets any better, but for me, the mileage was worth it. We'll have to see what the difference in towing mileage is.
