You didn't say what state you live in but if they have # 1 on the pumps buy it this time of the year. Here in the south we never see fuel pumps with number # 1 on them, only #2 here. When it gets real cold we have to add something to the fuel to keep it from gelling.![]()

I'm not so sure about running straight #1--even when I was living up in North Dakota, where we didn't see above zero temps for weeks at a time, a #1/#2 blend with additives (Stanadyne, Power Service, et al) sufficed for most of the time and only if the weather was supposed to be REALLY cold (i.e. sustained temps of < -20*) did I go to straight #1 and even then I only ran straight #1 for as short of a time as I needed to since mileage/power on that stuff went right down the crapper.
