I don't understand how new dealer reflashes work. Do they notify you when one is available or do they just wait for you to bring it in for service and then do it? I do all my own service so the truck won't see the inside of a dealership unless something goes wrong. Are all dealer reflashes good, and should I be going to the dealership to ask for them? I have an '06 F350 PSD. Don't know the build date. Thanks in advance. John

Well... I had my recall/reflash done about 2 weeks ago and I hate it... its louder, not as powerful, and I am getting horrible fuel mileage... I have an appt. scheduled to take the diesel tech for a test ride at the dealership... hopefully they will reflash the older program back on...

They can't reflash the old program back on. Once you have the new one, thats it, game over. The only thing they can do is keep updating it as Ford releases new flashes. Its kinda like losing your virginity, no matter how hard you try to get it back, ain't gonna happen!:sorry :(

They will let you know when it needs one. I just recieved a letter in the mail today for one and they can kiss it. I ain't doing it. As for how the reflashes work is to my understanding that your programing is like a big spread sheet with set values. Now when they reflash your truck they change some of the values or move them to different spots.

I second that. I just got the reflash dated late February-ish and it sucks. Turbo won't spool past 20 psi, no acceleration, and the fuel economy? Well, let's just say I think a V10 could get better than what I'm getting right now. Once my SCMT gets back from Superchips I'm fixing the problem--please tell me the SCMT tune isn't going to be affected by the new flash.

Reflash # 05E16

I got my letter from ford in Jan. 2006. Reflash # 05E16 , They call it a performance enhancement {right) emission related for some 2005 - 2006 6.0 diesels. (OBD) system may not monitor system properly. Check engine light may not come on when required, Also called a Voluntary Emission Recall 05E16.
My truck built June 2005, recall not done yet, I just don't trust dealers to screw with my truck, looking for someone that knows a good or high volume ford diesel truck dealer in the Detroit Mi. area that you can trust, do not include Russ Milne ford. Truck is running great with no problems. (PS) Wife has a 06 honda civic, 3 times back to dealer, 1 recall, engine back 2 times for motor noise they can't fix, seat replaced. It's like doctors if your not broke or bleeding they may not find the problem.

mpg is close to the same old 15-16

A few of you guys don't seem to understand, once they change your pcm program, it can't go back. Period, the end. Its not like they have a CD lying around with all these programs, reflashing a truck the right way takes a couple hours. The programs come right from Ford, through the dealerships computer. Also, if you are running an aftermarket programmer, you'll have to send it back to the manufacturer and get it updated also. Hopefully this clears this up, not trying to be the bearer of bad news, just trying to set the record straight.:sweet

Yes the first Bully Dog product i bought was a Power Pup. Tried to put it on my truck and it would never work. Sold it to a buddy of mine witha 05' and it took it. So I bought the Tripple Dog with no problems. Now remember I have no reflashes done to my truck. The only one was done by the original owner and that was back in june of 03'. Truck runs like a scalded ape stock and with programmer it runs like a scorched ape.
