well considering the crap that got filtered out of my coolant i wouldnt for
a SECOND be shocked to know the same sand and crap is floating around
in the oil passages...

'specially if you consider the 1st oil changes arent happening til somewhere
between 1k-5k or more miles.

Seems like the turbo is Ford's new "Cover my ass, send the blame elsewhere" tactic

the new 6.4 twin-turbo is claiming 10k or there abouts between
oil changes...imo they almost HAVE to do this to "reduce the operating
cost" to over come the increased price of diesel and to edge out the
competition.

alot of that is also driven by the reduction of hazardous waste over its expected lifetime

thats why they went to the filter we have now vice the big metal canister
and with less external oil lines or items they also reduce chances of leaks.

but 10k i think will be pushing it, maybe it wil come with a factory installed bypass filter arrangement, then they will say 25k oil changes.....
ulsd may help to keep teh oil cleaner longer as well....:dunno

Anybody remember the "Firestone Tire Incident"? Best and oldest tire company ever. Made the best tires I ever owned. The legacy ended because the Explorer was tall, narrow, and had the improper tire inflation pressure on the truck tags and in the owners manual. Low inflation to improve highway ride, instead of better engineering....Things that make you go...HHHHMMMMMM! :dunno

yup...and WHO suggested the lower tire pressures to soften the
rides...the DEALERS & MFG...cause the soccer moms didnt like
the "truck ride"...

i continued to buy firestone BRANDED tires and i NEVER EVER had
an issue w/ any of 'em...great tires !

when i got my 015 reflash... they told me computer was saying turbo was low on boost.... not making enough... it seems ok.. but sometimes when i floor it..boost gets stuck like at 5psi.. and wont go up... if i back out and get back in gas it starts going again...? they said driver harder.. dont let truck sit at idle as long... heat turbo up and it would clean out the turbo..? think this is a major problem.. or keep driving it...

is this boost problem before or after the 015 reflash?
the recall should not lower the boost, I can still pull 30 lbs. or push,

but it did take a few for the truck to re-learn the curve. My smoke on start up is now all but gone and the power is back. also the tranny stays locked in OD a little longer and it feels like the TQ is moving you instead of higher RPMs.
Pulling the fiver it feels tighter in teh shifts and very solid/sure downshifting with tow haul
if your gtting 10lbs or less, you have an issue to be reckoned with.
Airfilter plugged up, IC boots leaking or loose, check the easy stuff first.
