I got a letter today from the admissions office at NMU here in Marquette. After applying and requesting all my various transcripts, I've been accepted for enrollment in the Aircraft Maintenance Program begining with the fall semester.:thumbs:thumbs

Now all I have to do is figure out how to pay for it. I was too busy supporting kids for the first 10 years after retiring from the Air Force. So my GI Bill benefits expired. I think it's rather lame that they put a "best if used by" date on veteran's benefits that take a person 20 years to earn.

I'm also concerned that between classes I'll stand out too much in the hallways.:fogey:fogey

Tail Gunner,

Congratulations on the acceptance letter. And I agree on the expiration date of our benefits. I do have a recommendaton: student loans brother. By the time you graduate the President will get around to wipping out those debts. Most likely he'll be paying for your second year and beyond. By his standards you are entitiled to a free ride since the system has failed you (lost job due the economy and you ain't making over $250K).

Stay away from the gym.....they'll think you are the ROTC Officer.

I don't know what your situation is with the VA but have you tried Voc Rehab? I have been looking at a lot of this lately and if remember right (thats a big IF) you have to be between 30 and 50% disabled by VA standards to receive it.
