crumm, you guys leave em running the whole season? poor old trucks run em hard.
Not mine, I keep mine inside. Up on the slope some of the trucks run all winter others are plugged in it all depends on where they are and what they are doing. When they come back from the slope they are beat to death with very high hours and very low miles. Car lots like to buy them, knock the dents out, throw on a paint job and sell them for big bucks with low miles.

this morning it was in teh upper 30's, truck has been plugged in since thursady night ( i got sick)
so this morning she refused to remote start, so after three failed atempts remotely, I run out (hobble) and turn the key on, gp light goes out I turn the key to start, she turns over and over and over and over 25-30 seconds, just as i am about to stop and wait 30 seconds to try again, she catches and idles up normally
no choking, spurtering , or smoke
during the turn overs there are no sounds like she is trying to catch, just the spinning of the engine.

why?
is this normal

If thats normal for a 6.0 Ford has some serious issues. I would take it in a get it fixed under warranty.

Dealer Called

She went in this morning, they aproached her with the onboard computer:eek:
she cringed and put on her best face
the tech drove her and got 28 lbs at wot, (so do I)
all parameters Normal, tranny is behaving normally....no codes or annomallies
funny thing he explained... " this new turbo has variable vanes, so it takes longer to spin up, this is why there is a dead spot upon accelleration, more than my 7.3"

I feel a feeling of relief.:D
How do i like the tow haul mode? he asked.....
I like it, :D

I would go back and tell them to look closer. 30 seconds of cranking can not be right for a new truck..

The turbo has nothing to do with starting. It is not really spinning at cranking. The tech is blowing smoke.
