I just put a Jasper in mine. I know a lot of people dont think too highly of Jasper but mine is holding up very well (knock on wood). Ive got a TW chip in mine and I run it pretty hard and the tranny doesnt seem to mind. I think all in all I got for like $1800. If you dont want to do that check a couple local tranny shops for rebuild prices. If you go that route you can have them put in upgraded transmission parts of your choosing. Hope it helps!

Sounds to me like you have a clutch release problem. Check out the bushings in the pedal box and on the clutch master cylinder and make sure your slave and master are up to snuff before you go condeming the trans.

The ZF trannys aren't bullet proof by any means, but they are pretty tough, problems with shifting to ALL gears is uncommon, I bet its not releasing all the way.

There are guys running a whole lot more power tourqe through these things than you and me.

Gap doesn't mean anything, put the tranny in neutral, lock the brake and do the same thing, then see if the disk will spin independant of the flywheel. Bet it won't there is no adjustment, it means you have a problem with the release system, anywhere from the clutch pedal all the way to the throwout bearing. My bet is pushrod bushing and pedal box bushings with a possibility of the slave\master cylinder.

if i remember right the clutch should only release like .03". not very much at all, but i was having a problem with mine a while back after the slave cylinder went out. it would not go in gear at a stop. replaced the clutch lever and bushing and was good to go. does your clutch petal have any slack in it? if it's not a clutch petal/slave cylinder problem. or an actual clutch problem, then i would bet the shift forks are worn out. my shift forks were messed up when i bought my truck and it would grind when i down shifted to 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. and it would even sometimes kick out of reverse. it cost me around $500 to fix the shift forks and replace all the seals in the tranny.

well i found out the clutch is releasing just fine,so i know its in the tranny,i suppose it could be the forks, but i cant downshift into any gear unless im goin really slow,i also have to upshift slow, but i think a rebuilt trans is almost the same price as having someone goin in mine and fixin it,what do you guys think.
