I just bought an '07 crew cab. There are no latches for child seats in the rear. There are tether anchors located on the upper portion of the back of the cab. Do all crew cabs not have the clip anchoring system, or is this possibly an isolated oversight?

It does not say anything in the owner's manual in relation to the lower mounting anchors. My 1500 HD had the anchors on the passenger back side, as well as the center. Am I crazy to assume that all vehicles, now being manugactured, have the latch system. Do the older models have the lower mounting anchors?

The only thing I know about child seats is that you snake the seatbelt shoulder harness around/through them and clip it to the buckle. I do not have children so I don't know these things.

That's the hard way to do it. Every new car I've been in, has the new latch system located in the crack of the seat. I'm trying to figure out if any other F250s have this, or if it's not an option.

Thanks for your help.

my '04 doesn't have the tethers in the fold of the seats or on the back of the cab.
SO, i just put my 2yo's seat in the middle, run the lap belt thru the middle back portion of his seat, buckle it up, and then i put both of my knees into the seat area (to push into the bend of the seat real good), and then pull on the lap belt to tighten it up real good.

it doesn't much an inch. stays real secure.

I have a three year old (front facing seat) and a 3 month old (rear facing). The both can be fastened using the seat belts. It's just a lot more accomodating to have the quick release anchors, if you are going to switch carseats to grandmas car. I was just surprised it doesn't have the anchors within the seat.

Thanks for the help and Happy New Year!

The last time I was at a dealer, two three years ago, to look at the new trucks, I asked about the latch system. I was told that Ford still considers trucks to be workers, and not for families. Therefore no Latch system. Would be nice of Ford to think of the families that use their trucks.

If you take it to the dealership they will install them for free, I believe its a law, but don't quote me. I had it done at the dealership with no cost to me in 02 on my 2000 model CC.
