As the title states, this message came up on my display the other day. I've read a ton of stuff regarding how to test it (the test strips, the additive etc)...

What have you guys done?

Mine hasn't come up yet, but I will probably be buying the test strips and follow the proper procedure. Coolant quality is critical. Other option of course would be to have the dealer handle it. Just make sure they know what they are doing. ;)

From what I've heard...its not economical to buy the test strips because they have a certain shelf life and will expire before you can use them all. From what I've read, you have to perform 3 tests...and we've got 2 cooling systems so a total of 6 tests.

Roy, I'd be willing to go in with you on a kit and split up the cost to make it more economical for us...unless someone has a better idea.

I called the dealer, and he said out of all the ones they've tested at approx 15k...not a one has had a problem. So they reset it and they go on...

Thoughts?

There is only 24,000 k on the coolant in the system and I have no interest in making a trip to the dealer each time this happens. Does anyone have a proven method of dealing with this and what product to add? Will the message center reset on its own?

I'm at 22,000 miles and haven't got a message yet. Not sure if any of my aftermarket parts have something to do with that. My local dealer doesn't carry the test strips. He told me to go to NAPA. Anyone have any idea which test strip to use?

Napa Auto Parts has only one kind of test strips. It is for testing coolant. That is all I can get outa them.

Ether tell your dealer to get with the times or find another one. That is pathetic!
