if we find a web-retailer thats offering parts and someone knows that
theres a better source (price, availability, reputation) are we not
supposed to talk about that EITHER !?!

Personally, If im about to buy SHOCKS (or HDTV's or whatever)
and someone knows of a better cheaper retailer id be PISSED if they
DIDNT tell me !

If you have or know of a web retailer that has smoking deals on products that are commonly used by our forum members I dont have a problem with that info being shared. Even if said retailer isnt a sponsor or vendor here as long as YOU dont have a vested monetary interest in the deal.

but I like MOST come to THIS forum as a point of research...its
part of determining the best parts, price and location...

and youre telling us if a (private) seller wants to charge more than
you can buy at any retailer (or open market) that we should
keep our mouths shut and let other members get hosed on their
purchase !?!

No, what I think is that you like to interrupt a thread with your opinion. Is it your responsibility to save others from getting hosed? Thats a bit unlike you Don.

The whole point of the open market is just that... free and open capitalism. If someone feels that paying $100.00 for Jerry's widget is a fair price then so be it, maybe he hasnt seen widgets for sale that cheap before even though its more than you would pay. And if it is more than you would pay all you need to do is keep right on window shopping until you find the deal that is right for you. Its that simple, no further comments needed in threads you have no intention of making a transaction in.

Agreed, anybody that is fiscally responsible will do that, however that does not mean that you should disrespect someone who is trying to sell something. If in your searches you find what you are looking for cheaper than Jerry's widgets its not your responsibility to tell Jerry his widgets are over priced.
