If you open your hood and look to the right you will see the engine harness comes off the engine onto the inner wheel well (right under your Tymar intake tube). There is a BIG square connector that takes an 8 or 10 mm in the dead center to separate the two. All you’re doing is opening this connector and attaching the break-out box in between.Radarman said:Jim.. what harness are you splitting into? and what signals are you interupting?
The signals you’re breaking are the IDM signals to the injectors. By breaking the signal, the injector will not fire. Think of it as a fancy way to pull spark plug wires while you drive to find a knocking injector or a stumbling injector .
When a Cylinder contribution test and a Injector buzz test don’t pick up a mysterious miss (because it’s done in park) I can hit the road with this thing sticking out of the hood and into my window while I drive to duplicate the miss under a load before I start pulling valve covers.
