that would work.many shops do/did use a pressure bleeder.i myself like the gravity bleeding.open the bleeders and walk away.check fluid level afew times and wait till the fluid is flowing.

Why PRESSURE bleed when you can VACUUM bleed....

Like w/ THIS they make 'em w/
air compressor fittings/attachments too...

I like mind just fine...w/ the included attachements you can even perform
an oil change (tractors & lawn mowers) by SUCKING the oil out...

I own & use THIS ONE

I think your biggest problem w/ a hand pump unit, vac or pressure, is that
you wont have a COMPLETE SEAL (if you do you risk blowin out any internal
seals)...so youll have to KEEP PUMPING the tank...

its why the one i have has a CONSTANT supply of air (to create a vacuum)
that why when i open the bleed screw on the caliper i have a CONSTANT
vacuum...

I've never had much sucess with vacuum bleeders, they seem to pull air in around the seals or something.
I now do as rich mentioned, just gravity bleed, and then maybe a few regular pedal pump bleeds and you're done, the best results I ever had this way.
Only my :2c worth though :D

a problem w/ gravity bleeding is moisture entering the brake/fluid
system...heat and moisture are NOT great combination in a system
that gets HOT (moisture turns to steam/vapor & causes less effective
& spongy brakes...not to mention it corodes parts)

w/ a TRUE (constant) vacuum bleeder you dont have to be concerned w/ LEAKS
(or air ENTERING the system)...1 cause its PULLING/SUCKING the
fluid and 2) youre only doing it from ONE place (the bleed fitting) at
a time.

the vacuum bleeder i use leaks but at the TANK (other wise i GUESS
it would colapse the tank)...ill be the 1 to admit its not perfect &
i do get tired of the constant hiss when im bleeding the brakes...but
it beats the hell outta having to tell someone...Pump the pedal, hold it
down, now let it up & pump it again...

anti lock brake systems NEED their fluid flushed at least every
2yrs...the dirt & moisture wear the seals and the antilock pump
components...its one of those pay me now or pay me MORE later.

One of the main reasons I want one of these, also will this drain the torque converter or is that done only by the machines that attach to the trany lines at the radiator and exchange the fluid?

I dont think you could DRAIN the converter w/ it...the fluid "trapped"
in the converter has to be PUMPED OUT...and i THINk it has to be done
w/ the converter SPINNING.

the way ive seen this done @ shops is via connections in the
external plumbing WITH the truck running

basically as fluid is OUT, it causes NEW fluid to be pumped IN)


YOU COULD how ever use it to SUCK the fluid outta the trans pan...
the "device" comes w/ several extension TUBES that are designed to
feed DOWN a dips stick hole...and then it VAC's the fluid thru the provided
extension/tube (which hopefully is laying on the bottom of the pan insided)
