Hello,
Has anyone had to replace the wiring going to their block heater recently?
I've got a 2005 F-250 4x4 SuperCrew, 6.0 diesel. I didn't think the block heater was working. Took my Volt Ohm meter out and put it across the flat prongs of the plug, and bingo...nothing. I ended up taking it to my local Ford dealer to have them check it out, only because they told me the block heater was covered by the 5Yr., 100K warranty. Well, it turns out the wiring harness is not covered under that warranty!, and that is what they say is wrong, and for just under $175, they will fix it.
So my wife will have a $%^& attack when I tell her. I guess I'm going to have to get my hands dirty again and fix it myself, that is as long as I can find information on doing it.
Thanks for any information,
dano
