Last year my heater made a definite noise. This year when I was check the timer at the beginning of the cold season it was hardly noticeable.:dunno I am using a different cord though.

Freezing fog this morning with an ice storm on it's way.:cold 3 21 degrees right now and falling....Sunday's low may get to single digits....glad I'm not anywhere close to Mike!

Dang! Now that's deep cold for the Sonoma Valley! Does the wine growers have any plans in place for such a cold spell?
Wont hurt them, the vineyards are all pruned back now and dormant, the citrus guys will prolly be sweating it though.

Probably the coldest night in 10 years :cold 3 . 95_stroker is correct in that the vines are dormant and a deep freeze won't hurt them. The big problem is in the San Joaquin valley with its citrus crop that can't tolerate a deep freeze. :cold 4

Ohh yeah... They better turn those fans on full blast and light up some of those heaters.

When collecting WVO in downtown Portland I met a guy who was getting the stuff from the same place. He used it to burn in his fields Near Hood River just off the Columbia River in order to keep his stuff from freezing on cold nights. He had sent me some pics and it looked pretty neat. Said he couldn't afford the #2 so the WVO worked just fine and he didn't have to filter it as it just burned in the bowl and he emptied it out.

Hey Stroker,
I like those temps, we just came out of a deep freeze of -25 for the last three days straight..... Block heaters are gooooood.

It never got as cold as predicted but having the block heater plugged in sure is sweet. My coolant was over 100*F prior to cranking and the glow plugs turned off much quicker. :sweet I liken it to climbing into a toasty warm bed on a very cold night.
