Have you noticed that when you call a company for information that the calls are outsourced to India or the Philippines. The other day, when contacting Dell computer, all calls were outsourced to India or Phiippines. Today calling Dish Network to order another year of service, my call was outsourced to the Philippines. Just to see if I could get a person in America, I called 11 times before getting a lady in Texas. So I ordered it from her. Some Fords are made in Mexico, some Chevy's are made in Canada. Most all electronics are made over seas. Are our young people going to have to move to another country to get a job? At one time between 1920 and 1950 almost everything was made in this country. That is what made this country strong.
I hope that the young people of this country turn things around before it is to late.

Depends on who you are calling young people. 16-20, 20-30, 30-40. In Michigan we all ready feel the heat of unemployment. Ford, GM, Chrysler plants are cutting shifts big time. Many people don't have a chance here. I think our government is the cause of the problem raising minimum wages and taxes won't help people here in Michigan.

Young to me is anyone under 60.
Realistically, the college aged kids are going to have to think about the next few generations. It seems the current leaders are only thinking about themselves. It seems that we are selling out our country to the lowest bidder.

You are right. The people running for pres don't care about anyone. The people of America need to pick a person that doesn't want to be president and knows what it takes to get the job done. :sweet

This is precisely why I will never buy another Dell. I need warranty service right now that I paid extra to have and instead I get some foreignor telling me to jump through a bunch of hoops I know for a fact will not do anything.

I had just last week heard that there is a growing movement reversing the outsourcing trend where more and more companys are bringing those outsourced jobs back to the US. Apparently the incentives that caused companies to move those jobs overseas were not that long lasting.

And this week I had read a story where AT&T is opening a new call center in Indiana, bringing back something like 400 jobs back from overseas.

That is some very good fresh news. I hope that this will be the beginning of this country turning around.

Many, Many years ago, at a family barbeque, my 93 year old grandmother on my fathers side said "hey kid, come over here". She was talking to my 85 year old grandfather on my mothers side.
A couple of weeks ago, while playing chess with a 83 year old friend of mine, he said " son, I say son, when are you going to move". That made me smile...
I said to him "any day now". So youth is in the eye of the beholder.
