Better Brakes

What are my options for better brakes on my truck? I have replaced them once about a month or 2 ago and the front ones are warped again. I know when and where it happened thanks to the idiot that was doing 15mph on I-75 in Atlanta! Anyway, I haul alot so I need something that will last and hold up to some heavy loads. What about 450 or 550 brakes? Are they any bigger or better and if so will they fit on my 350?

yep, john is right on it scott. i currently have the power slot cryo rotors, and have used hawk performance super duty pads, which are designed to be used if you tow alot.

they perform better when loaded, but they will squeek alot when bobtailin.

hawk also makes a light suv/truck pad, it has a diff. compond make up.

my power slot cryo rotors still look brand new. they are very tuff.

Ok, you had me at hello! I meant you had me until the squeaking part. How bad do they squeak because that really annoys the heck out of me. Do they also squeak on the non-cryo rotors?

when your are just in the truck, they will squeek, sounds like they need changing, but they dont.

i would maybe go with a diff. compound pad from hawk.

the cyro(frozen) powerslots are probably the best.
on the last set of rotors what was the run out like ? how bad
were they warped ?

its my understanding that a large % of the rotors that are "warped"
arent really warped...rather the problem is cause by differencial pad
wear & the pads are causing un-even "bite" on the rotors & causing
the vibration.

even available (web site only lists the calipers..for $1800)

i warped a stainless rotor on one of my motorcycles...theyre 300+
PER disk (and theyre not as big as a trucks rotors).

its why everyone uses steel !

Yep i have priced them but i was just thowing out options They are way way cheaper than a Stillen set up and just as effective, they say they are superior to others out there... but realisticly everything that is aftermarket is way overpriced if it is usefull, Ex. lots of people buy Banks stuff and a powerpack is $3500 or $5000+ for a ATS or BTS tranny so are they all that expensive if you need them. me personally i use factory brakes augmented by a PAC Exhaust Brake.. works great for me... just showing other products available..
