I work for Sears so im thinking about getting some Diehard batteries from my work. The Diehard Gold has 850CCA and a 3 year full replacement with 100month prorated. They are $109.99 each. With my discount I will get them for $186.54 with tax. Does this sound like a good deal? They are made by johnson control. Anyone know who makes the autozone battery?

My golds took a dump today. After only 1.5 years. Woke up to a dead truck, tried charging together. Couldn't get the charger to break 70% Took it to Autozone for testing. One said bad. Other said charge and retest. they exchanged the bad but I had to go home and try charging the other one before they would call it toast and exchange it.

Second one wouldn't break 50% on the charger alone.

Dump it, it will cause you problems down the road. Rule #1 always replace BOTH batteries at the same time, or the bad one will kill the new one.

Oh I did! They just wouldn't do both until their tester said "OK". I think if a real manager was on duty, he would have said, "let's not waste this guys time, give him both now"

I replaced mine about a year ago with Titaniums from Advance. I went to about every place in town checking prices & warranties. They were the best deal, 36 months free replacement and 84 months pro rated. The next best deal was Wally world with a 2 year for slightly less. It seemed like an extra year free replacement for only a bit more was worth it.
