My thanks to you , Crumm, bushpilot this afternoon i picked up my new alt , just had to let common since come in to play,and make the safe choice,,i ck out the cables all that looks good no corrosion everything was tight, i run 30-45 min drive and didn't see it flicker, and you must know iv'e been work'n,, lol... thanks again ! dante59..

hi guys,, i need to clear something up, in checking back to my 1st note i did not make my self clear the batt light just flicker and never stayed on. being this is my 1st diesel i try the be in tune with anything I'm not sure of.
if the light had stayed on i would not have even though of a trip like that with out looking in to it .. i respect you.

a flicker is what happens just before the light comes on SOLID ;)
and the LIGHT solid on mean you better use what battery life you have
left to pull into the auto parts store for an alternator and/or batteries.

Ok, So the up date is, with the new alt all is good and no batt light. tec said he thinks is the internal regulator thats going out. but difficult to check. i was just thinking how easy is was to to pull the one off the firewall, the good old days as they say.. dante59. ( rich)

I have a 75' F250 and I must say that I like the Alternator/regulator in one like it is on my 96' better than the external one on my 75'. The one on my 75' seems to always be giving me trouble and if you change the alternator it is recommended that you change the regulator anyway. Much simpler to just change them all at once in one unit.

Hi Crumm, As i remember the last time i had to deal with a regulator was i my 49 chev and that was a long time ago, 2 screws off the firewall and slap a new one on. how funny ,i was looking on e-bay this a.m. at 46-50 fleetlines, good times my friend good times... thank for your input i really appreciate it.
