So do I but you know what, I have not had to use it yet!! Suppose if I take it out of the truck then I will need it!
I do drain the filters about once a month just as a preventitive. Not completly drain them, just a little.

we should ask some of the injector vendors here if they have any experience with bio and whether they are aware of any negative effects...

Let me start by saying that I fully support the use of any all alternative fuels, whether its WVO, soy-diesel or bio-diesel, and regardless of whether its store-bought or home-mabe and I do not believe that their use poses any risk whatsoever to the injectors or engine. The problem here is not the WVO, its what was in the WVO.

From my recent discussions with my supplier is that it's the "free glycerin" in finished product that will harm injectors. The only way to find it is to have the fuel tested at a lab, just looking at in a jar doesn't do anygood since the free glycerin is not visible. This is what gums injectors up and causes problems, from what I've been told. It's also another reason that engine man. are still shying away from bio since I'm sure homebrewers generally don't have their fuel tested. They have no control over people not using ASTM standard fuel.

BTW he's using B100 in his 06 DMAX for just over 10k miles now.

Hi All,
So if the fuel meets ASTM standards is it considered to have no glycerin in it? So far no problems with my first tank, I have about 200 miles on it and driving another 150 today. So far about the same mpg, had a bad headwind the other day so I am sure that affected the mpg somewhat. Will keep y'all posted on any benefits / problems encountered.

Biodiesel and Filter

I ran a tank of B20, then a tank of B50, then 3 tanks of B100. I then changed the filter, it was pitch black, no visible particulate though. I didn't experience any power loss, it was just time to change the filter. I have 110K miles on the beast.

I love BD, if nothing else, I don't have the diesel smell.

My experience has been the same fuel mileage even though BD has lower energy, a quieter engine as BD is more lubricative and has a higher cetane number, and it is cheaper here in Houston, and did I mention is smells good.
