Hi all, I did the AIC mod on my truck where I installed a switch to idle the truck up to about 1100 rpm at idle. The mod has been working fine until the other day when I had it running for the AC and I was under the dash running some wires and pulled a wire off the switch. Now nothing works and there is no power to either wire. The only thing I can figure as that I shorted something out when I pulled the wire loose but I don't know where to look. Does anybody know where the wire gets its power from? Is it a fuse or circuit breaker and if so where would it be located.

Thanks
Scott

Thanks Bush Pilot, I already have the system connected and it worked fine but I believe I shorted out the wire that has power. My problem is that I don't have power on this wire any more and I need to know where that wire gets its power. Is it fused and if so what fuse is it?

Thanks
Scott

Thanks, I did pop the fuses out to check but I didn't see anything blown unless I overlooked it. After so long your eyes tend to cross anyway so I will check again in reverse order. If anyone knows where the wire gets its power I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Scott

I just went out and checked mine...I used the
directions to the link i sent you earlier...

Mine is tied to a 10amp FUSE, #29.

Its the 6th one down from the top all the way toward
the RIGHT (pass side).

I dont have my Owners Guide Handy (is there one posted
on line some place)...I THINK #29 is the DTC/ODB2 Port/Power,
which i THINK is also tied to one of the power outlets.

Thanks Bushpilot, that was the one. I had to check it twice because it didn't look blown but it is.

Bama, I have one I will sell you. Why do you need the complete AIC? Are you just wanting to idle up the truck or do you plan on using it for a camper?

you dont need the "traditional" AIC, there are TWO ways to wire it...
one for PTO & one for Automatic Battery Charging...

I posted a link in an earlier messages <above>

i do not run a pto, nor do i pull a camper. i do leave my truck running when i am loading or unloading cars that i haul. would an AIC benefit me? and if you could, tell what an AIC really does. i have seen several of them on this site that owners have, but i really don't know anything about them.:dunno
