I know this is probably a stupid question, but I don't miss mine as much as I thought I would (except the diesel sound). I'm getting very comfortable with the F-150 SuperCrew. It does have a bit of a "rumble" when the engine starts and is idling. Going to put the "in the bed" toolbox from the 250 into the 150 soon, and add some type of felt or carpeting on the inside of the toolbox, and I need to add a hitch receiver. Diesel around the DFW area is still 20 to 30 cents per gallon higher than regular. My gas bill is a little less now since the 150 is getting about the same mileage as (or slightly better than) the 250. Plus the Explorer is getting around 18-20 mpg which is a few mpg's higher than the 150.

I still have mine, but I definately would miss it. I gotta have that low rpm pull. Gas motors don't have that "grunt" factor.

Yeah I miss mine.

No I didn't sell it, I BROKE it. :rant

Here are some rear axle carnage pictures

notice the 2 bolts left in the carrier, the other 6 were totally out. They make alot of noise when they do that :D

There's the bolt that went through the gears, clipped the head off and jammed between the ring gear and carrier.
This was a Sterling 10.5 with dually spacers. I'm shopping for a Dana 80 now. Might even go to 4.10 or 4.30 gears right away :sly

Sure is no fun doing service calls with the Beetle

Sorry for the slight run off- topic. :D

You crunched that rear end good! Yes, a Dana 80 would be better. Sorry but I don't know where one is...

I still own my diesel but i do miss it as a daily driver. Ive been driving a Subaru Legacy for a while now to save fuel costs. Its a treat when I hop in the truck. If im going to own a truck then its going to be a diesel. Once you go black smoke you dont go back.

I think I see your problem, looks like you got a crack there. :innocent
We just finished non-destructive inspection techniques in school, visual techniques, Magnaflux, Zyglo penetrent, eddy current, ultra sound, x-ray etc. So I got me some real edumacation in crack identification. :CRAZY Yep, you definately have a crack there. ;);)

In all seriousness, sorry to hear about your mechanical issues RoyBoy.
