Speaking of dependent's, I am a D.I.N.K. (dual-income, no kids) so I get screwed every year good an proper. I guess since I don't have kids, i don't need MY money as much as I would otherwise, so they go ahead and get it off my hands for me, and give it to someone else that is more deserving.

If your a D.I.N.K. I guess that would make me a D.I.C.K. (dual income, couple kids )

We figure we conservatively spend a grand a month raising kids (food, clothing, roof over the head, insurances, supplies and entertainment etc etc) and we paid in 24 grand to Uncle Sugar this year as well. Kids are spensive and so are taxes.

Let's see, 10 months in the "zone" FITW for year 05 = 5,890.00 Wife full time student, wages 6,000, 2 children + childcare, New expedition (for the wife), bought a house paid 18,000 in interest and taxes.


Would anyone like to donate to the poor airmans fund, please disregard the total wages YTD of 92,000, not including trip per diem money.

I guess that makes us DIRT (Double Income Raising Three)

We pay ungodly taxes and don't seem to get any of the "breaks" (or very little of them) because they phase them out as your AGI goes up. I think about the only two we get are the 401k and mortgage interest (and other itemized deductions).

I wish people would wake up and realize how much of their income they give to the government in terms of total taxes. the federal and state w/h are bad enough, but after you've paid those if you buy gas you get another tax, if you buy groceries another tax, etc. If you stay in a hotel . . ..

I think it's ridiculous how little of what we earn we get to keep.

Oh well .. .not doing my taxes until march. (I've estimated them already)

I'm just waiting on Uncle Sam to deposit my money that I lent him back into my account. We way over pay, so we get a heathy refund every year. I know it is a poor use of my money, but the refund is nice.
