Thanks..double checked door code and looked up on the wiki..Great resource, i knew somewhere i had seen the code(s) description. Now, where is the one that breaks down the VIN#??FOUND IT
As for my truck, i have the following codes. I am gonna post them just to make sure i read the chart right, and to give insight to anyone else wondering what they have..

RC: region code = 58 = anyone got a clue?
DSO: domestic special order = mine was blank
EXT PNT: exterior paint = F1= vermillion red solid, water based clear coat
WB: wheel base = 156"
BRK: brake code = 4 = anyone got a clue?
INT TR: interior trim = XD = 40/20/40 cloth captains w/ intergrated restraints XLT
TP/PS: tape paint/pin stripe = mine blank prolly cuz monochromatic red (see above)
R: radio code = 1 = am/fm 6 disc cd
AX: axle code = D1 = 3.73 limited slip f350
TR: B = tranny = 5sp auto 5R110W
SPR: springs = US = anyone got a clue? not sure how to read this one!


atk is looking up what my tab on my diff. means, alex, do u have a description of that the numbers/letters signify??

Region code I'll assume is United States but I'll look it up.
Brake code is probably 4 wheel anti lock(might need a confirm)
SPR is for the code springs installed U= Front S= Rear

BRK code... i would say 4wheel anti-lock
SPR code...not sure
and the rest is straight forward....


as for your tag code....V 423 F( top row) 73 10 5 3F11(bottom row)....there should of been a 3 above the 73, which this meens 3:73 ratio....10 5 is the ring gear size and the rest i am working on. need to find the rest of my books....

Bill & Alex: tanks!! i could not figure out how to read and understand the u/s part.

Alex: i have looked 3 times in the last 2 days and i have no '3' above the '73'. i guess i may have to pull the cover and drain the fluid, which is what i was thinking about doing when the seal gets replaced... see what u can find in your book(s) and let me know when u can what u find out.
