Hey Bama, there's no use having the train horns if you can't have a little fun now and then. Your story reminds me of an incident when I was around 10-12 years old in Louisiana. One of my uncles had a '62 Rambler and had added one of the "klaxon" horns (like the Model A's used). We were driving down the highway when we came up on a herd of cattle in the road (this was before stock laws were enacted). My dad was driving the car and stopped and blew the "regular" horn, but they didn't move. My uncle reached over and blew the other horn, and they scattered like jackrabbits. Having different types of horns are always fun.

I think you are missing something here. I WASNT in a school zone, I was in a parking lot at WAL-MART.

Just like Cooter would say, I maybe crazy, but I aint dumb.

Look at the post that I first wrote about this story I was telling.

come on fellas, get it right before you start accusing me of something like that.

And all of them were teenagers and in high school

Stephen,

I was referring to this part of your story:

when i take the kids to school in the moring, its around 7:25 am when we start to hit traffic. almost 75% of the moms are on their cell phones.

I was assuming at some point you were in a school zone dropping the kids off and the mom's are doing the same while on the cell phone. It's just not safe in that area.

Sorry for the confusion.;)

That is a totally diff. story John. I thought that you thought that i was honking my horns in a school zone. I would never do that. I made that statement about all the moms i see in the morning heading to school and blabbing away on their cell phones at 7:00 in the morning.

Its not safe at all, you are right about that. Whats more important, finding out what your girlfriends did the day before or getting your kids to school safely.

Case In Point: Had an 19 year old girl killed 'round here while on her Cell Phone, talking to her boy friend. Ran a Stop Sign from a side road that crosses a Hy-way. "T" boned by a "Big Truck".. driver said she never even slowed down, he tried to but.. could'nt miss her. Cut the car in two. The Boy Friend heard her scream... the collision... heard peopole around the scene, the Medics, the CHP.. Sad, Sad story.

The Boy Friend will live with that for the rest of his life.

Stopped at payphones till about 1989 when I got my first fixed mount car phone.

What's a pay phone? :roflmao
Actually one of the last pay phones that I tried to use only took credit cards. Of course, if you try to use one at Wal Mart, they're usually so dirty you wouldn't want to touch it, plus it's probably out of order anyway.
