You aren't REALLY looking to be talked out of buying, are you Roy?

Dave
:lmao

Well, when I started this thread yeah, I was. Trouble is that now it's about my only option, to buy SOMETHING. New or used. Basically my engine needs to be totally disassembled to be repaired correctly, and so I can trust the thing at all. I just don't have the time or patience for that, especially in the middle of summer. Maybe I should have made a better title for the thread :dunno

There's a good chance I'll pull the trigger on a new 450 in the next 24 hours. I could have it by the end of the week.

But, I'm still looking for input. give me ideas on what to do and why. Truth is, I've stuck well north of 30k in REPAIRS into this truck in the last 6 years and only 50k miles! As much of a pro-6.0L guy I've been, mine is turning into a disaster. Seems like You gotta quit somewhere...

Dave, you can still try to talk me out of this. I'll listen. :D

He's already in the driver seat.......Dave...lol

Roy,

I had to call it quits on my 6.0 after 10K in bills and looking at a third motor. I talked to the guy who got my old truck and he had a new motor from ford about 9weeks later he said it cost him about 12K. The dealer could not fix it the coolant problem anymore. They had no clue what the problem was.

personally, I'd buy a crate motor, go through it (head studs, egr delete, blah blah blah) and THEN put it in the truck to minimize the downtime.. would be less expensive, too.. BUT..
it wouldn't have the "cool" factor of a new 450...

Wanna buy a nice F350, JL? :lmao

Yeah, it looks like I'll be making a call in the morning, provided I sleep on it ok tonight :D

It's an oxford white, Lariat w/ ultimate pkg, black leather seats, FX4, etc, etc, etc
