That is some fancy flyin. Wish I could do that again.

Dave

Back in 1978, there was a Regional precision flying contest held at the Nut Tree "Vacaville" California. These guys would have done very well. I won the Northern Calif. contest and was in the regionals, and placed 2nd. Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and So. Cal winners were included. The winner and I were both Commercial pilots. One or two of the local winners were Private pilots.
I am sure that these bush pilots would have done very well in the spot landing segments. One with power and one without power.

Yes Mike. I got my ticket in college and bought a part of a Cessna T-210. It was fun while it lasted. I am not current at the moment.

Dave
I was unaware... good on you and get back in the air if you can.

Hey Dave;

Did you get to fly a C-310? The company that I flew for in Southern Ca. used a Mooney and the C-310 depending on the need. We used to own a 210 years ago.
Ours was not turbocharged. When I was instructing, I used the C-152, C172, C182 and C-210. Also the Mooney M20J (201). Piper 140 and 180, and Bonanza B36. I flew some cargo in Pa-31 Navajo and people in Cessna 402. To bad insurance rates are killing general aviation. The high cost of insurance put an end to my instructing. Also we owned Redding Air Tours, of which was another victim of high insurance rates. Sometime I will tell you of the deep pockets lawyers have regarding aviation, which jacks up the price of new and used aircraft.

Are you talking about an older 310G with wing tip tanks? They were designed that way to try to reduce the vortices thus reducing drag.
Yes it will be good to visit. Only plans we have are to go to the coast some time this month or the next, depending on the fires.
