Getting ready to put on a new air intake on the 01' stroke. What Afe states is there stage 2 will free up to 50 horse and mileage. Who has used this and is it the one to use?

The AFE is the unit I will be putting on here over the next few months. They state "up to" 50hp increase, which means with the other proper mods it will give you a 50hp increase. But from everything that I've read on here and other places it is hands down the one to go with.

AFE STAGE ll

Cool, thanks everyone. I was debating on Stage 1 or Stage ll. Is the Stage ll definetly better than the stage l or are they similar?

kman500hp,

Best intake available, we did a year end purchase on them at a special price that we are passing on the members. You must call to get this price though.

I put the AFE Stage II Proguard 7, got the slip-on pre-filter sock and a maintenance kit too. All from DPP.

Problems: top of filter just kisses the hood insulation, so I trimmed the insulation. And they sent the wrong color sock (wanted KY Blue, got some ugly yellow thing that looks awful when it gets oily).

Positives: well-designed, well engineered, easy install. Makes a great whoosh if you stand on it after each shift.

I would do it again, no question.
