How are a Japanese truck and a fat women alike???????

They are fun to ride, but you wouldn't want your friends to see you in one!!!!

I always thought it was a good idea to consider putting a short pigtail on either end of your extension cord for a couple of reasons....
1) so WHEN you pull off without unplugging - less strain on everything before it unplugs... (and then you're only dragging a short pigtail :))

2) WHEN a cord wears out, it's usually right next to the plug where it bends and is pulled on.... (replacing a short pigtail is a lot easier and cheaper)

just my humble $.0000002 :)

OH - and the few times I DID plug in, I draped the extension over the drivers side mirror to make me MOVE it to drive off :)

That may not save you, well at least it didn't work for me one morning. I had the big ole yellow cord draped around my mirror - got in the truck (my 01), started her up - idled for a few minutes then started to drive away. The mirror slamming into the window did wake me enough to stop.

After that I moved the plug to the back of the truck and installed a flashing red light on the A pillar that came on when she was plugged in.

Sometimes 4:30/5 am is just to early to be thinking -

Ron, how did you manage to hook up the flashing light? I've driven off twice with it plugged in (wife never lets me hear the end of it, either) so a flashing light would be great. I'll tackle that project when it warms up, right after I get done with the AIC mod! :thumbs

Well, I installed my block heater AC outlet mod today!!!!

I purchased the Marinco plug (model 150BBO) and mounted it on the plastic air dam below the front bumper. It is on the driver's side as to be more accessable.

I used a 2' section of an old extension cord rated for 20 amps to ensure safety. I attached a female plug to the end and attached to the plug on the truck and secured under the bumper. Then installed the plug and secured and all is working!!!

Now plugging and unplugging is easier and the plug outlet is secure and easier to get to when I am in my garage as I must pull all the way in and do not have easy access to the center-front of my truck.. but I have access just in front of the right front tire!!

Hope the pictures post well?
