Question A/C Not Working on 2001 F250 PSD

You may have a vacuum leak and that would cause the heater/AC to go to DEFROST mode (default). You would not feel much through the vents or floor vent. Don't screw with the electrical much until you check the vacuum lines. If you have 4 wheel drive look at the lines going to the hubs, behind the tires. Most common leak in the lines is there.

It is 4x4, however, it's a straight axle with manual locking hubs, so no vacuum lines there. The fan absolutely does not turn on when I turn on the switch. The only vacuum line going to the fan motor connects below and to the right of it, and it is connected firmly. Thought about being the switch, but I can hear the compressor click when I turn the switch, so it should be good. It just bothers me that I had it working and now it doesn't again

It's still possible that the blower motor could be bad.

That's what I'm thinking. Bad brushes possibly. I tapped it last night and was able to get it to turn on.

Just an update! The armeture in the fan motor was bad. I changed it and voila, it works! Thanks for all of the help

FWIW ?

On my 2K, I went thru 3 fan motors, in 250K. Rumor had it that the Dezel harmonics/vibration gets to the bushings, bearings and/or brushes ?

OH, THAT MAKES SENSE! Lol. Yeah, Ford definitely had some electronic issues in this generation. All kinds of weird little quirks on my truck
