HEY HEY HEY LISTEN TO ME
HEY HEY HEY LISTEN TO ME! ! ! ! ! Got 3 trucks total and mine has had the most problems so here it goes.
I would follow everythhing 94F450SD said... EXCEPT the removal of the belt. That is not needed but can be done if you want. 1st thing, make sure you are CAREFUL in trying to remove the bolt, if you round it off then you've got bigger problems.

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=FORD+CPS&category0= <-- that is ebay and that is the part you need. You can usually find it for 40-50 bones online, 70-90 at International or have the ford guy say whoa, let me look that up cuz its expensive.... 3 min later, o that'll run ya about 198 bucks plus tax... F#$% that...
There is a chance (since your tach moved) that it is NOT the CPS, but with the rate that these things fail, it can be considered routine maintainence lol. It took me <10 min to do it for the first time and I think I could re-do it in about 3 now... so go get em
Remember that since the CPS causes the truck to "defuel" that extended cranks are usually in order. No more then 20 seconds a crank, give 1 or 2 minutes between cranks. You may need a battery charger, I did. The reason for this is because you can/will burn up your starter and that is a whole 'nother can o worms...
IF this doesn't work, try removing your chip (if possible) and then crank it. I'm not familiar with your program so I can't offer you advice there. Hope this helps...
