I'm obviously new to this forum. I deployed right now and want to buy a diesel as soon as I get back. But I surf all the big 3 diesels forums. I used to work for ford as a heavy engine mechanic so I have some Ford loyalty.
This is what I've learned.
Chevy diesels -lots of HP and lots of small engine problems with lots of discussion about them.Engine may not have longevity. Good MPG
Ford - Lots of real heavy problems, engine replacements, turbo replacements,HEAD BOLTS, owners love their trucks but brag only if they have the least amount of problems.
Dodge- Weak automatics when stock, engines bullet proof even when heavily built, no one changes engines except a few 53 blocks around 99-00.Good mpg.
I think in the long run Dodge takes it, but Ford has a nicer truck but the engines suck.
