So WOT ICP reading equals 1580 psi. That is pretty low. You need to inspect that updated fuel pressure regulator spring in there (look for abrasion wear and tear), but it looks like a fuel pump issue to me.

the boost problem was a rusted stiff unison ring.
thanks for your help, i am currently doing some pressure tests to confirm it is the HPOP

i also installed new hpop and that fixed the oil pressure problem and most everything but it has weird flutter or misfire under acceleration when cold. then just the other day it started running very rough and I figured it was some bad diesel that I put in from some old jerry cans but than the tranny started shifting weird so I really dont know what it is now

Glad the HPOP has cleared up a lot of your issues. The flutter/misfire might be some injector stiction (oil related). Might try some Rev-X or Archoil. Usually when I hear flutter though, I think of the turbo. Can't recall - did you get yours cleaned up?

just the other day it died on the highway completely, so back to square 1, I am doing some pressure tests and I think it blew a seal around the hpop, possibly one on the tube that is in with the hpop, and I think the ipr is leaking as well. I seem to blow stuff all the time when on extreme!

replaced the hpop related seals, did a pressure test and it has a minor leak which i figured was the pump shaft leak that is apparently OK, fired it up and drove it a bit and it still has a randomly rough idle. i have taken it to a shop and they say i have the wrong icp, i have the early version icp and my trucks an 04, so thats a start!

Where is the ICP located?

If it is in the HPOP cover, behind the FICM up against the firewall, that is an 03-Early 04 engine designation

If it is up front on the oil rail in the head (similar to the 7.3PSD ICP location), where it is relatively easy to get to, not buried behind the engine, that is a Late 04-07 engine

You sure the slight rough idle isn't a touch if stiction?
