Another issue with my truck. Lets see if anyone else has had or currently has this problem. I have the FX4 package with auto-lock hubs, but when they are set to auto and I twist the switch to engage 4 high or 4 low the truck never goes into 4 wheel drive. I have to get out of the truck and lock the hubs in every time. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Alright bushpilot you haven't let me down yet, lets see if you can figure this one out as well.

sitting in an airport (XNA) drinkin a beer (theres my disclaimer) !

when you "flip" the switch on the dash does the 4x4 light come on ?

to engage 4lo you have to be in neutral & foot on the brake.

4hi should engage w/ the truck in gear (or netural or park no
foot on brake required).

the 4x4 light on the dash is indication of the transfer case (not
the hubs)...

are you gettin the light on the dash ? but having to manually lock
the hubs ? (then youve got a vac. leak...probably at the hub seals)

you my friend have a vac. leak !

the vac. pump is on the passenger
side fender...youll need to get
a hand vac. and determine if one
or BOTH hubs are leaking.

whats your ac/vent situation ?

is it defaulting to defrost only ?

7c3z-9h465-a fomoco 4x valve assem/relay (under hood/pass. fender)

it is either this relay or a vac. seal leak somewhere, perhaps even the hose came off that relay...check it..

good luck

I drive it like a big rig :D:D BIG TRUNS......Something in the hubs is not letting go. I'm going to lift the front with the fork lift on sat. and see what up. Probably need a regrease on the hubs. I dont think it's ever been locked in 4wheel drive untill I got it.

or you can pull the vacuum hose off and blow air into the hole and that will pop yer hubs free. if you can just keep turning from lock to auto while and twistin the axle back and forth and it will pop yer hubs out.
