you my friend have a vac. leak !

the vac. pump is on the passenger
side fender...youll need to get
a hand vac. and determine if one
or BOTH hubs are leaking.

whats your ac/vent situation ?

is it defaulting to defrost only ?

My ac systems is functioning properly. I haven't had any problems with it cooling the truck down or blowing air out of the vents. It isn't defaulting to defrost only either.

The pass. side was still locked up, but with a can of brake clean and some white grease it's working. I'll fix the vac. leak later in the week. I have to order in the O-ring kit from ford. There trying to stick for 17 buck for a kit that has 2 O-rings and a snap ring. :backoff

Bush, thanks for the info..

bush, I know you have a schematic or diagram laying around that you are just itching to post of here about all of the vacuum lines and all that. The more I can visually see where it is located and how to track down the problem the better off I will be. Simply because I have a 1 week old in the house and she has made me a little sleep deprived. So, some sort of diagram would be greatly appreciated.

man dont i WISH i had that, I would have posted it LONG ago for others
that have had the same problems.

Ill check my alldata subscription.

Perhaps someone else has the info from their ford factory service cdrom.

the vac. lines are colored (behind the dash on the passenger side)...pull
the glove box and youll see them feeding to the temp/vent controls.

ESOF is designed so that you can engage it while moving...a min. speed is required to get 4hi to engage (it's in the manual). It's nice to be able to get 4hi when moving at up to 50 mph. 4lo...you need to be in neutral, switch it on, then start driving.
