Got a very big drag race that my work is putting on in a few days. Someone tell me honestly....(I'm thinking YES) does launching under lots of boost in 4wheel dig hurt the tranny? Tranny is completely stock.

the last time i did a 4hi launch with lots of boost with a stock tranny.................

it cost me over 3300.00 -mad (brand new tranny installed 2 days later)

you only really need to build upto around 10psi to get a good hook, i think.

If your looking to replace your trans., then by all means throw all the boost you can down stream and watch the show.
I have found that with my 'Edge I can afford to be a little slower off the line because I WILL run them down and go bye bye.
So,
1- do a big hairy 2wd burn out in the box to psych the other driver out.
2- leave on the last yellow light, not the green (by the time things get moving it will be green.)
3- switch out of 4hi to 2 after first shift and then, HAMMER DOWN!!

I also set my 'Edge over to #5 a couple days before we go racing. In my mind it lets all the pieces work together better. Shift points, timing that sort of thing since I dont run in 5 very often.

I do the same thing with mine....i agree it takes awhile for everything to get on the same page....

my hitting instructors always tell me to "Be Quick But Don't Hurry" when it comes to getting ready to hit a baseball...i like to take that to the strip with me:thumbs

actually, more power can be gained without stepping on the bug.

some may "step" in the wrong direction, causing the head to be pulled.

but yes, power is in the hips, and then the hands come around.

watch andruw jones when he bats, he never takes a step, and hits it a country mile.

BTW, i would keep it in 4hi all the way down, you still have more traction that way. JMHO

i think "squash the bug" means rotating on the back foot....also...every hitter is different....the main thing is getting to torque(hands back over back heel, hips still closed, chest turned back)....shifting from back side to front side...and getting to a good contact point( knee-hips-head in a strait line or close....good contact diamond with the hands and bat)....most importantly TIMING you can't teach that!:sweet
