3- switch out of 4hi to 2 after first shift and then, HAMMER DOWN!!


Turning the ESOF to 2wd while under load won't do any good. The power through the driveline won't allow the switch to occur.:sorry


Stock trannies don't like 4wd launches.:doh: Hope you plan to upgrade soon.

Even if you have a manual transfer case I don't think you'd get it to unlock back to 2wd under load. I've noticed that with mine, you have to blip it just a little to get some slack in there so it can pull back. you can feel it in the lever when it does, it's a very light tap.

Wait.....the shift that takes place immediatly after I make the switch to 2wd is when ,I assumed, the front axle disengaged. The steering feel loosens up and the pitch or sound of the drivetrain changes. I figured that the defueling that takes place at the shift points (I run the 'Edge) was enough of a break in the action to let the front end get out of the action. No?:confused:

You might be okay on that if you can feel it. I just know that doing it the old way, aka the pedal, it takes a moment...
