Spending money to save gas is really a catch 22.
So you spend $2000 to change you gears to get 3 MPGs better. With diesel at 3.60 a gallon you would have to travel 50000 miles to make up the $2000 cost.
Well that is if my math is correct.

I hear everything being said. I am actually thinking of going to a Dodge or Duramax at this point. GMC and Chevy make some real nice looking and riding trucks and the D-Max gets better mileage, and the Dodge while HOMELY as all hell gets great mileage.............

I love my Ford, but I really do want some better fuel effeciency

an overdrive tranny would certainly be LESS than a new truck...
the torq-shift has been trouble free (even on the forum's where
the WORST problems seem to be magnified 10 fold theres NO
discussion about blown converters or torn up / failed trannies)

anything you do is gonna be a trade off...
