You'll lose hp. if you run race gas
no way man! not all race fuels have outrageous octane ratings! a good oxygenated fuel will give you more power, garunteed. U4.2 :D:D:D its like a shot of nitrous!

the carb is ok, for the vac. secondaries you can change springs to make them open when you want, sooner/later.

by their rules im not sure if ford SVO heads would count, probably not.

Well this could be fun....well you have some motors you can play with 289, 302, 351W, 351C, 352, 390, 391, 392,the last 5 are truck motors found in the F250 to F750 and school buses. Late 60's early 70's. I have a book that list ALL ford motor known. I like the 302, 351W with 351C heads also known as BOSS motors. :sweet
I have a 302 powered ranger with small chamber 289 heads that is ported and shaved running a 544/546 lift with a 302 duration. I'm pushing 426 hp at the fly wheel. The block is late 60's and the head are mid 60's. I would get with a really good motor shop and talk with them.

I'm thinking most guys are not following the rules. I find it intresting that when standing right beside some of there trucks, you can hardly hear the cam lope, but they stomp the gas and fly, there doing it some how. I've heard rumor of 12000 in one of them, yet he passes tech.

That the reason I got out of it. 15 years ago guys had 10-12k in their engines, but I was running a 390 fe that wasn't really legal ether. Just to keep up with them.:sly The main thing is to have fun and make new friends with people that have the same interests as you.

u4.2 is not recomended for vehicles just motor cycles, atvs, snomobiles, etc.

you are right, but it still works great...we tried it in a 289. had to adjust the pilot screws a little, and if my cousin wanted to run it permanently he would have needed to up the main jets, but it was loving the stuff.

i have no experience with it but apparently streetblaze100 is supposed to be crazy stuff, but really expensive. also we have run VP Red, and although its not oxygenated, it is leaded and very affordable. we did notice a power/throttle response increase when we switched from pump gas to the Red.

stay away from aviation fuels, they dont yield as much power because the av-fuels molecules are designed to be lighter, and burn quicker with less BTU.

It says no electric fuel pump. Is there a spot on the block where you can put a mechanical pump? I think they eliminated it. Anyway a stock 302 for your year is 185hp and a 351w is 210hp. A 69-70 block has thicker block castings from what Iv'e heard, so can you use a different year block? You might be able to bore it out to .060 over giving you a 362 or 3. Would be best to get it soniced first. Deck the block but you'll have to watch your quench distance and valve clearance with cut heads. You can use bleed down lifters like Rhodes to help your vaccum at idle. There are also tricks to use 400 rods and 302 pistons. Just a few more ideas for you to think about.

yes the electris fuel pump would be a problem. when you say 400 rods and 302 pistons, is that with a 302 crank?

Thats with a 351w set up. Its called a long rod 351w. Google it cuz there's a few different ways to do it. Did a computer engine dyno on a 351w and I really think you'll have a hard time getting 275hp under the rules you have to follow.
