it was a different truck, a 2001 ranger. i would think that ford would sell some painted super duty grilles because the ranger grille i bought and 2005+ super duty grilles are alike in that they have a painted front surface and a honeycomb part attached to the back, so i would think that the face would have to be painted before the honeycomb part is attached. i couldn't see them masking off the honeycomb part and then painting it, right? that's why i gave my 2 cents saying it's possible. of course if ford never sold a truck in that color with a painted grille, then no they wouldn't do that for you, but we all know that they don't come in that color now. it wouldn't be hard to have it painted. you could even buy a grey or painted grille from a wrecking yard or the factory, scuff it yourself with some 320-400 grit sand paper to save some labor costs, then have someone paint it. i'd imagine a XL grille wouldn't be too expensive from a wrecking yard.

but see, the ranger and superduties are two diff. vehicles altogether. they may or may not do for one, what they would do for the other.

i don't know, my head hurts.:(

i know they're different, i was just explaining why "i" (just me) would think they might have a similar process for assembling the grilles. it's probably something completely different. just me overthinking i guess. lol

and i know you probably weren't trying to sound mean or anything. it is hard to convey exactly how you feel when writing. same here man. i wasn't either. you can't type your tone-of-voice, right?
