I'm running RBP's fuel additive it bonds with the water in yer fuel and allows it to burn off. It also has a 5 somethin or other gain for cetane level. You only add one ounce for 25 gallons of diesel i aint had any problems out of it. I switched to the RBP from diesel kleen.

bill (CHPMustang) told me about this one in chat one night.

its supposed to be the only "Ford approved" additive. i bought the cetane booster, one bottle can treat upto 125 gallons. if you have a 29 gallon tank like me, you can treat close to 5 tank fulls.

to soon to tell so far. it was only alittle over 5 bucks tax included.

monkey wrench in scientific wild-axe guessing..

OK.. so my psuedo-scientific experiment looks like it's come to a screechin' azz halt...

I go to fill up tonight, and HEY, the B5 pump is now a B20 pump.

The whole idea behind this two-stroke oil deal was to restore fuel lubricity brought on by the lack of sulphur in ULSD...

But ain't that one of the side benefits of bio?

To recap: My truck is totally bone stock. I had done the cheapie air filter mod, but switched back because the element kept getting waterlogged.

So I had a baseline fuel mileage reading of more or less 13mpg (12.9-13.1 depending)..

Warmer weather and a switch to B5 brought it to 14.0 mpg

Addition of TCW3 one qt/per tank at fill up and the mpg rose to 15 flat.

Addition of TCW3 and Power Service white bottle per label directions actually lowered the mpg to 14.6 on the first tank, 14.8 on the second, and last nights fill was SUPPOSED to be the third fill for average on that concoction...

And then BP has to go and switch the bio-blend to B20...

So our little experiment has come to a conclusion...

unless we want to call it good here and do some experimenting with different cetane boosters...

any suggestions?

A friend of mine was travelling up North along I-5 to Redding and was stopped by the CHP at a roadside checkpoint for a fuel check. They put a 1/4" tube in his tank and looked at the color of the fuel to see if he was running RED fuel. I would think if you put RED ATF in your tank, you might be caught. Just a word to the wise, Calif is now checking ALL trucks, on certain highways, for RED fuel.
