Will 17" wheels fit on a 08 F250? Is anyone running them now and if so what brand of wheel?

My '08 came with 20 inch wheels and 285s and I have plenty of room to spare, front = back = top and the tire bottoms touch the ground real nice! :)

Thanks for the reply Jimmy. But I didnt explain myself very well, mine came with 18" wheels , I would like to drop down to 17" because there are more sizes of 17" tires to choose from than 18's. I have heard that you cannot go smaller on the 08's.

You need the 18" or larger wheels due to caliper size. I also checked to see if I could run 16" wheels because the tires that came w/the truck are worthless and tires for 18" wheels are outrageus. Also, with the 18" wheel package, if your truck is a job #3 you have 3.55 gears 20" have the 3.73 gears a 4% diffrence. FYI

You should see if a tire shop will do a test fit. I seen an 08 f350 dually today and it had factory 17 inch wheels on it. So why do the drw have 17 inch and the srw have 18's. Do the duallies have have smaller brakes? I know I'm venting, sorry. Trying to help:dunno
