ok i've got a little brain storm going for my 79 ford i really want to put a diesel in it i was thinking a 12v cummins but a good old idi would be nice. i looked into the prices and the cummins will cost more but it would be cool. id like to keep the c6 and the rest of the drive train, just looking for some opinions the old 351m is gettin a little tired it sure would look good with some stacks and blowing some smoke. so if it was you what would you do? i really hate seeing her r.i.p.

Fer starters... yul halfta do some Serious frame and suspension mods to support the weight of Either Dezel... in a F-150. Not to mention drivetrain stuff.

A MAJOR project, to say the least.

But if you go forward with it ? Keep us informed ?

Ever think about putting a small 4 cylinder two cycle Detroit in it. I have seen some trucks that have them on YouTube. They also sound pretty wicked with a straight pipe.:sweet

I think it should have a IDI motor in it but if you are looking for cummins conversion parts try destroked.com they have all the different parts and adapters that are needed.
