Hello all, I am a newb to the diesel community, but life long Ford owner. I have already read about many good mods for my pickup contributed by your members. I am wanting to do the high idle mod, but not finding the same color of wiring as everyone seems to have. On my customer pass through circuts I have the four 14 ga wires listed in the body builder info, and have two of the 20 ga with the same listed colors, but instead of a light blue with yellow and a white with orange stripe, I have a solid orange and an off white or yellow with orange stripe. The other two are the same color as listed in green with white stripe and a yellow with white stripe. Any idea which wire to hook to? Don't want to fry anything. Found the white wire with blue stripe near the OBD connector. Thanks

I was told the correct wire may be tucked up inside the bundle, but pulled it apart tonight and just not there... do I just have a weirdly wired truck? Any help guys?

Is your truck a manual or auto trans? The manual doesn't have this feature...

northernex1, look at my pictures and in that bunch of photos you will see the high idle mod. I believe it is the blue wire and the +12v wire hooked together with a switch and you are golden. The wire is located next to the fuse panel and is not bundled.

You do NOT need the pass through wires. Did you look at the pictures? Automatic is OK.

Yes, looked at the picture, but sorry, I guess I am not getting it. It looks like you are showing the proper wires to hook to. I found the white with light blue stripe, but can't find the light blue with yellow stripe. Is there another route to go? Thanks for the help.

It is there. It is the PTO wire and it is in all diesel trucks of 2004. On my truck it was out in the open and not bundled.

I was going to trace the wire back from the PCM and as I am looking at the loom under the hood, I see a light blue with yellow strip attached to a ground stud on the firewall... how can this be?

the wire under the hood is NOT the one for the high idle
the wires you are looking for are very near the ecm/pcm under the dash
its not part of the customer access pass thru bundle

the ford fleet website body builder book for 04 has very good instructions if it helps

https://www.fleet.ford.com
look under body builders
then in the elct chapter
