theres PLENTY that will argue the benefits of an aftermarket filter...
but theres also plenty of photos of dulled-edge compressor wheels
and damaged <intake/compressor side> turbos.

its simple physics...anything that FLOWS more <air>, has to PASS MORE <dirt>

I almost made the same mistake with the intake. I am used to my gas engines and opening up the restrictive intakes. I have never once heard anyone tell me to open up the intake on my turbo diesel. Everyone says to leave it alone and do the exhaust so I will definitely let the experience guide me on this one.
