    The noise was more throttle related. It deminished when accelarating and came back when leveled out. Its funny that the noise always seemed to be coming from the left front wheel. Others who drove the truck thought the same thing but it was the rear end. Thanks again for the response.

    Pull the rear inspection cover off the rearend. crack it open and let the lube drain. On my diff the small spider gears in the center were scared pretty good.     I did not think about taking any pics. Should have. Price a gear shop locally and the price went from $1200 to $2000. Does anybody know if the older model F350 rears will interchange. Thinking about finding one at salvage yard. Thanks for all the help.

    Pulled the backing plate today on the rear diff. Spider gears have marks on them, Not smooth. Consderable scratches. Ring and pinion not marked as bad. Some small scratches.     Well it's Dec 27th, finished changing out hub bearings today. One had wear but this did not change the noise.     Big Joe Thanks for the welcome. The 350 only has a Hyper-Tech program for now. Set on stage 3. K&N filter. The noise sounds like the noise a tire makes when the tread goes bad. Posted a thread on the 99+ forum. Did not want to get to deep into it on the welcome center page. Thanks Again.

    Just registered and wanted to say Hello to all. Recently purchased a 2002 F350 Super Duty with 125000 miles on it. Having some noise problems somewhere on the drive train. Hopefully your archives will be of help. Looke forward to the vast info you all have here.
