    6.0's aren't bad engines unless you try to make stupid amounts of horsepower out of them. Daveben's truck is a good example.. butt-tonne of miles on it, bone stock, and rarely an issue.

    that would be a bad pressure cap.. But as long as you bought the truck with one head off, I'd just take a deep breath and deal with the other one.

    I'd say pull the right head,and send the heads out to a machine shop and at least have them hot-tanked & inspected.. some of the later heads did crack, but FWIW, there are butt-tons of used, bare and rebuilt heads out there.

    Couldn't tell you about the quad, but my 99 has hauled a steel three-horse with living quarters & loaded with Clydesdales damn near everywhere and never skipped a beat.. if you want compression braking, all you have to do is cancel overdrive with the button on the stalk..

    the right way to do this, is to perform a voltage drop test. I wrote this up years ago, and the basics are the same except you'll be dealing with all big cables.. So run to Harbor Freight or Sears and get a decent meter, and pick this thread up on about post #58.. about halfway down the page...

    here's what happened.. on the back side of a Warn lockout, there is a retaining ring that holds the guts into the body of the hub.. that retaining ring had come out of it's groove, and let the internal spring blow the drive gear out of the back of the hub body.. teeth of both the drive gear...

    sure it wasn't the PCM commanding the alternator to full-field? Mine take 2 minutes before it flares the dash lights.. Don't the '02 & '03 use a glow plug controller to run the GPR?

    sorry to say some posts do get "lost" from time to time.. I would not be scared of a 6.0.. change the EGR & Oil coolers, and don't try to make an ingernt amount of HP out of it..

    I don't see why they wouldn't.. see the edit in my post above.. The only thing I'll warn you about, is those Harley wheels are SCARCE. Start looking for a fifth one now, just in case you garf one on a curb, etc.

    the bolt pattern changed from E99 to 99.5 since then, it has remained unchanged. as far as a 275/65R20 fitting in the wheel well, it should.. it's only an inch taller than a 285/75R16 34.1" OD vs 33.1" od.. You only need an additional half-an-inch..
