    The few times that I had mine out I never noticed, I would suspect it to be a welded patch of steel on the engine side... but can't say I ever seen it... however that by no means, indicates that it does not exist.

    Hi Dave, Once you set up an extreme position on some programers and chip burns, I beleave your "safe" mode disapears from the ECM, I know I could keep going on the Tach if I had "Big OIL", but do to loss of fuel preasure I peg out at around 3750 with aload.

    Bypass filter blow out, left stranded 3 times!

    It sounds as if you have a faulty filter, the system is most likly fine. On the bottom of the filter is a spring and baffel, when the preasure gets to high, the baffel is supposed to open and allow the oil to free flow past the filter. If the Baffel is stuck or if the spring on the bottom...

Temp was around 10 deg. so I usually go easy on the truck till she's warmed up... while this kind of cold I eased through the throttel and shifted around 1500 rpms + - 100..... Later 40 or so miles later while...

    Yes I hear your knock, that sounds similar to what the LL#8 was supposed to fix, My truck did that same knock until the injector was replaced.

    on the good side... I notice not too much incurtion on the Drivers compartment, not too bad for an offset impact. I think on the older Body style, a hit like that would have put the A-pillar almost into the B-pillar... so all in all she looks like she did well... BTW hope Ma & Pa are doing...

    when I bought my truck it was an XL, Vynle Seats, Rubber Mats, AM-FM, no Cruise.. Paddle Mirrors.... Since then ..Power 60/40 Seats, Carpet (Noise Factor) Tow Mirrors, AM/FM CD/Cassett, Factory Cruise....CB, B-A Winch Tint all Around. 90% thanks to EBAY... (BA+ Big A$$)
