    Bushhog

we sharpen ours with a 6" grinder, i would be guessing somewhere around a 60* angle. they are very crude so the angle isnt very important, however i noticed that with a sharper angle like 45* it will cut tall grass really well, but dulls much quicker after running through some branches or dirt...

    quickie coolant question

the coolant is fine. you need to get a test strip and check the SCA levels, if they are low you need to just get an SCA additive. being that the new filter is charged, i would bet you are fine. dont forget that too much sca will cause hard scale fall out and/or sludge that will ruin seals and...

    Question Diesel techs:

overfueling will cause black smoke, only if the fuel is burning. a blown injector tip that is dumping fuel will more than likely not burn, and wash down the cylinder and smoke white from the fuel dripping and boiling in the exhaust. i would imagine eubee has his injectors by now, and the truck...

    Question Diesel techs:

often when they are dumping fuel the piston is just wet with fuel, and the tailpipe will be dripping, and usually it will smoke white like a steam locomotive.

    Question Diesel techs:

if its dead (not firing) you PROBABLY wont hurt anything, just shake your coffee a lot. light throttle and high revs actually will smooth out the vibes and be better than "taking it easy". heavy throttle and low speed will make it very rough. if its dumping fuel, do not drive it at all.

    Help Needed No brakes!!!

i went through 2 napa vacuum pumps within a 2 year period. then i put a ford one on and its been there for almost 100K miles. i put a napa starter in, and a year later it left me stranded at the same fuel stop where it had died before. it was sunday, so another napa unit went in.....a year...

Alternator going bad maybe, or glow plug module?

it sounds like an alternator going bad. if the GP's were staying on, there would just be more draw and the alternator should be kicking 100+ amps at high idle under a maximum draw situation.

resurected my post from the dead..... this is a post i made on another forum a long time ago, and should clear up a lot of myths/questions about coolant: What is coolant? -water, wich is an excellent heat transfer fluid but it freezes and causes corrosion. -Glycol is added to prevent freeze...
