    ball joints would be the one thing i would stress on a superduty. crumms list covers the rest. 7.3 is pretty damn bulletproof. most transmission troubles on a stock truck stem from lack of service, they like fresh fluid.

    i see a bunch of engine stands on craigslist quite often. thats in the CT though, wont help you much. try ebay. just make sure its a substantial stand, some of the cheapy ones arent good for anything heavier than a chevy 350. let us know what you find! any plans for mods while its all apart?????

    with no scientific evidence to back it up, i know a guy who preaches that the diesels bust bulbs quick due to the vibration......its plausible. i dont think the suspension would be the cause, but its right there with the vibration theory so it could lend a hand at popping them prematurely.

    fan hubs are different threads, and from the factory they came with BIG stickers on the shroud that says wich way to turn it. unfortunatly some of the stickers didnt last beyond the dealers lot. the oil leak my be the oil pan, i know mine is leaking right there, just below the front crank seal...

    once your thermostat opens, 100* or 200*, the cooling system functions the same to keep the engine cool. the thermostat raises the minimum running temp. to be sure that the cooling system doesnt make it run too cool

    if its coolant it will smell like maple syrup. it very well could be an egr cooler leaking coolant into the exhaust (i assume the 6.4 has one) and those are very common failures on a lot of the different engines i work on. it would be covered under your warranty assuming you have relatively low...

    i see it happen all the time on vehicles with daytime running lamps. light bulbs come with a "life expectancy" and when they are on 100% of the time you use up the life quickly. do you have DRL's?

    you need to removed the valve covers, unless you can find someone with a break-out box type diagnostic tool. i want to make a bunch and sell them, but i havent yet so.... -remove the valve cover (one side at a time) -start the engine -unplug one at a time and listen to the change in...

    i dont have it on my truck, but i have a few friends who do have it on 7.3's. it works well to cool down the egt's when you are running stupid big injectors and programming. thats about it from what i have heard. im sure there is a power increase, but how much i dont really know.
