so I'm leaving work tonight, sitting in the left turn lane on So. Westnedge...
all of a sudden, *poof!* truck isn't running...

freekin great...

I wait for a break in traffic, hop out & pull the lower panel cover... look at the #30 fuse..
"...shot dowwwwwwwnnnnn in a blaze of Gloryyyyyyy..."

so I fumble through the door panel and find my spares.. pop another one in and hit the key.. *POP* it goes... :rant

I open the hood, crawl in the engine bay (remember, it's 6:45pm on the busiest road in town, it's dark, and traffic is heavy) and using the pocket scewdriver & LED flashlight I normally leave on my desk (a sign?) pop off the connector for the fuel bowl heater...

put in a 25A fuse (hey, it's all I've got)

and hit the key.....

TAAAA DAAAAA!!!!

A "wait to start" light!

fire the truck up, shut the door and wait for the light to change hoping it's NOT the IDM frying out again.... :innocent

Then I called Dennis.. he's online ordering a spare fuel bowl heater...

anyone got a spare?

just thought I'd share that with y'all...

so what was your E.T. for all this sounds like you could have a shot at a nascar pit crew. Good thing you know whats going on and you didn't have to sit and wait for a tow.

Did you get the heater from International? It is a BIG honken' piece of metal for the fuel bowl heater and only about 26.00 bucks......alot cheaper (about 100.00 buckscheaper) in cost than a thin piece of wire from FMC.

I didn't time it, but I'm going to say 2 1/2 light cycles...
